Charles Connor, who was a drummer for Minor Richard and other audio greats together with James Brown and Sam Cooke, has died aged 86. Charles Connor’s daughter, Queenie Connor Sonnefeld, said her father died peacefully in his slumber on Saturday while less than hospice treatment at his residence in Glendale, California. She stated he had been diagnosed with typical force hydrocephalus, a brain condition that results in fluid buildup.
Connor Sonnefeld termed the drummer a “great father” who was constantly constructive and a individual who hardly ever gave up on his dreams.
“He was one of those drummers that was a bricklayer of developing that rock’n’roll style,” she said. “He performed powering so many famous musicians in the 1950s. He was a loving grandfather and was quite happy of his loved ones and took a large amount of delight in his contributions to rock’n’roll.”
